General settings

Open Settings with ⌘, or Solidly ▸ Settings…. The window has panes for General, Graphics, Viewport, USD, Advanced, and Account.

Everything in the General pane persists across launches.

Startup

Restore the camera position applies only when the launch behaviour reopens a file, and the control is disabled otherwise. Opening a document from the Finder or the command line takes precedence over either behaviour.

Files

This is the same setting as the sort menu in the sidebar's Models list.

Suggest Materials Automatically controls the pass that matches loose texture files to materials in FBX and OBJ files. See Material suggestions.

Appearance

Background Color	Any colour	White

System follows System Settings, including its automatic light and dark switching. Background Color is available only when the follow setting is off. The Render tab's background colour changes the viewport for the current session without touching either setting.

Notifications

Warnings and errors stay twice as long as the value chosen. Progress chips, and anything waiting on a decision, stay until they are finished or answered.
